FAQ & AIDE NEDGIS

Where to dispose of used lights and bulbs?

Lamps (bulbs) and luminaires sold by Nedgis are electrical and electronic equipment (EEE) that must not be disposed of with household waste. Such equipment may contain hazardous substances which, if exposed, can have negative effects on both health and the environment. What's more, such equipment can be recycled. Nedgis has joined the eco-organization www.ecosystem.eco for this purpose. Nedgis is identified with ADEME, Agence de la Transition Ecologique.

Within our online catalog, the amount of the eco-participation, which finances the management of EEE waste, is indicated, as a component of the final price, in accordance with regulations. Eco-participation is used to finance the sorting, recycling and recovery of electrical and electronic equipment. This eco-participation is then paid to the eco-organization to help recycle these products, which can present a risk to health and the environment if they are not recycled.

The consumer is responsible for disposing of used light bulbs by dropping them off at a designated collection point. Non-recyclable bulbs are all filament bulbs (incandescent, including halogens and linolites). You can dispose of them in your regular household garbage can. Recyclable bulbs include discharge and LED bulbs (fluorescent tubes, compact fluorescent lamps, LED lamps). They can be identified by the above logo. Bulbs marked with this logo must be recycled and disposed of at collection points: you can find the nearest free collection points here. Supermarkets and DIY stores take back your lights and bulbs with no obligation to buy, as part of the "1 for zero" take-back scheme.
